Eine Wochenende zum Wiederholen

Camping in Kanada. Das heißt in erster Linie sich von Moskitos anknabbern lassen! Dann heißt es aber auch noch grillen und Marshmellows grillen, im Lake Huron baden, ins Autokino fahren und es sich auf der Ladefläche unseres Pick-ups gemütlich machen, Minigolfspielen, Eis essen und auf den Flohmarkt gehen! Ein wirklich wunderbares Wochenende mit wenig Schlaf, aber viel Spaß! Und was war bei euch los ;)?

A weekend to repeat. Camping in Canada. In the first place this means getting eaten by mosquitos. But then it also means barbecueing and marshmellow barbecueing, swimming in lake Huron, go to a Drive-in movie theater and get comfy in the back of our pick up, playing minigolf, eating icecream and going to the fleamarket! A wonderful weekend with little sleep but lots of fun! And how about you ;)?

Wochenende-Halbzeit

Kann mir bitte jemand erklären, warum am Wochenende die Zeit so schnell verfliegt? Naja, es könnte auch daran liegen, dass unsere Wochenenden ziemlich vollgepackt sind und wir sowieso fast nie zu Hause sind: Freitag abend und gestern haben wir uns Toronto angesehen und nach second hand Möbeln geschaut aber nicht gefunden (ich hätte mir die Geschäfte vorher aufschreiben bzw. im Lotto gewinnen sollen). Auf der Heimfahrt den schönen Februarhimmel festgehalten. Und bevorsteht uns noch Einkaufen und Eishockey in Detroit und daannnn: Oscar-Night! Genau! Dieses Jahr gebe ich mir das zum ersten Mal. Hoffentlich mit Katze auf meinem Bauch und viel Pizza und Erdbeer-Cheescakeeis in meinem Bauch! Ich bin bestens vorbereitet!

Weekend-halftime: Could anyone explain me please why weekends always fly by? Well, it could also be  that we are on the road too much: We spent Friday night and yesterday in Toronto sightseeing and browsing for second hand furniture (I should have written down the shops and won the lotto before...) And when we were going home I could capture the beautyful February sky. And there are still more activities on the list for today: Shopping and an icehockey game in Detroit and laaaateerr: Oscar-Night! This year I am in for the fist time. And I hope it´ll be with my cat on my belly and lots of pizza and strawberry-cheescake-icecream in my belly! I am prepared!

Allererste Sahne-Samstag

Nachdem ich heute morgen erst einmal vor Freude aus meinen Pantoffeln gekippt bin, weil meine Leserschaft auf magische Weise über Nacht auf 17 nette Menschen angewachsen ist (der 18. bin komischerweise ich selber??) - DANKE! - haben wir uns zum Einkaufen zum Eastern Market in Detroit aufgemacht. Gottseidank gibt es ein paar schöne Flecken hier in der Gegend! Und gottseidank war ich heute nicht zu feig, meine Kamera auch tatsächlich auszupacken und zu verwenden! Ich hoffe, euer Wochenende verläuft bisher auch so wunderbar wie meins?

After falling out of my slippers this morning, because of noticing that my readership has magically grown to an amazing 17 people over night (the 18 person is me, but why??) - THANK YOU! - we went shopping to the Eastern Market in Detroit. It´s good to know that there are also some lovely places around here. And it´s also good I wasn´t too shy today to unpack my camera and actually take some photos. I hope so far your weekend is as wonderful as mine?

Wochenende und ein Blog-Award

Bowling, Heimwerken (Dani ist der Heimwerker-King!), Bagels zum Frühstück, Laufen und gleich super bowl schauen - das war mein viel zu kurzes Wochenende! Und dann hab ich mich noch über den hier gefreut:

Susi von susale´s Lifestyle Blog hat mir einen Award verliehen! Ein dickes Dankeschön an dich! Ich freu mich sehr über dein Kompliment!! Was mir an dem Award gefällt, ist, dass er an kleinere Blogs geht, also Blogs, die unter 200 Leser haben. Und das finde ich, ist eine gute Sache, obwohl ich Kettenaktionen nicht so mag und deren Regeln schon gar nicht. Ich finde jeder, der einen Blog führt, steckt viel Liebe hinein und hat es somit verdient, gelesen zu werden. Und somit gebe ich den Award nicht direkt weiter, sondern richte in meiner Sidebar ein temporäres Extra Blogroll für ein paar der (noch) nicht ganz so großen Blogs ein, die ich sehr gerne lese. Ein kuscheliges Wochenende...

...oder ein aktives, entspanntes, produktives oder gemütliches? Was habt ihr am Wochenende vor?

Ich möchte auf alle Fälle wieder was Sportliches machen. Vielleicht morgen eine längere Runde laufen gehen? Heute wollten wir Salsa-Tanzen gehen, haben wir beim Frühstück beschlossen. Ich glaube, seit dem letzten Mal, bin ich schon wieder total eingerostet. Ok, eigentlich waren meine Hüften noch nicht wirklich paarungstanztauglich, hihi! Spaß macht das Ganze trotzdem. Und wenn wir am Sonntag noch nie ganz k.o. sind (oder wohl eher, wenn ich meinen Freund überzeugen kann), dann würde ich noch gerne das Schlafzimmer streichen, drei Wände weiß, eine in Petrol. Habt ihr dazu Ermutigungen oder eher Abratungen? Anyway, genießt euer Wochenende.

...or an activ, relaxing, productive or cozy weekend? What are your plans for this weekend? I would really love to do some sports again. Maybe go for a longer run tomorrow? Today at breakfast we decided we wanted to go salsa dancing tonight. Since last time I am sure I lost quite a bit of my form. And ok, to be honest, my hips have never been ideal for this kind of reproduction dance, hihi! I still like it. If on Sunday we can still get out of bed (or better, if I can convince my boyfriend), I would like to paint the bedroom. Three walls in white, one in a mixture between blue and turqoise. Do or Don´t? Any experience? Anyway, enjoy your weekend!

Weekend

Ok, ok...this post is not about my plans about the upcoming weekend, but about the last one. A mixture of busy- and lazyness kept me from writing this post earlier. Also I have to mention that I am working here with a  very slooooooooooooow laptop (from 2000 aprox.), no mouse and without the possibility to upload my iphone photos to itunes. Yes, I have to send photo by photo to my e-mail account and then save photo by photo. Luckily soon this will be over, we are moving on Friday!

Here we go:

A shopping trip to the Great Lake Outlet Mall in Michigan, where I ended up with some nice pants and a cute turqoise hat.

We are now discovering all kinds of northamerican sports. This week: Icehockey with the Windsor Spitfires! Cool! I liked it a lot more than American Football. It´s a lot faster and just a lot more fun to watch.

Ah...and we still haven´t moved house, but Noa already has. She loves the pink box of my bike helmet because it´s a good combination of entertaining, eating and sleeping.

Weekend

This weekend had to highlights: A shared birthday party with just toooooooooooo many presents from people I barely know for one month! Muchas gracias, que me encantan! We got together in the community room of one of our friends´apartment buildings for some drinks and food. Really nice and the time went by so quick.

The other highlight was my first American Football game in Detroit yesterday. Detroit Lions against Kansas Chiefs. "Go Lions Go!" And that not knowing the rules...oh boy! A strange game, a lot slower than football because the stop the game so often (also because of the commercial breaks). I know it sounds crazy, but here TV can tell when the game has to be interrupted for commercials. Somehow it gave me the impression that here first it was commercials and they where looking for some way to display it...and then sports came in. In Europe (still) it´s the other way round. So I was watching more than three hours of football, having a hotdog and enjoying this truly American experience.
